Method
- Step 1: Prepare your corn by thawing frozen kernels and patting dry, cutting fresh corn from the cob, or draining and patting canned corn dry to remove excess moisture.
- Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, and onion powder until well combined.
- Step 3: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 1 minute until hot but not smoking.
- Step 4: Add butter to the skillet and let it melt completely, watching for it to foam slightly.
- Step 5: Add the corn to the melted butter and stir immediately to coat every kernel.
- Step 6: Cook the corn for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until some kernels turn golden and slightly caramelized at the edges.
- Step 7: Sprinkle the prepared seasoning mix over the corn and stir constantly for 1 to 2 minutes until spices bloom and coat evenly.
- Step 8: Remove the skillet from heat, taste a kernel and adjust salt or spice if needed, then transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped parsley before serving immediately.
Notes
Pat your corn completely dry before cooking to ensure seasonings stick and kernels brown evenly.
