  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Measuring cups
  • Rubber spatula

Method

  1. Chill mixing bowl and beaters in freezer for 10 minutes.
  2. Measure heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in the chilled bowl.
  4. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium speed until the cream begins to thicken, about 1–2 minutes.
  5. Increase mixer speed to high and whip until soft peaks form, about 1 minute more.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more powdered sugar or vanilla if desired.
  7. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.
  8. Re-whip gently if the cream loses volume before serving; consume within 2–3 days.

Notes

Avoid over-whipping to prevent the cream from turning into butter. Store in an airtight container and re-whip if needed before serving.
