Ingredients

Main
  • 4 swordfish steaks about 6 ounces each
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • Grill or grill pan
  • Tongs
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the swordfish steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the swordfish from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  5. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer; swordfish should be opaque and easily flake with a fork.
  6. After cooking, transfer the swordfish to a plate and let it rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  7. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the swordfish before serving.
  8. Serve the swordfish steaks alongside your favorite sides.

Notes

This dish pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables, rice, or a crisp salad.
