Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 3 tablespoons hot water around 160 to 170 degrees Fahrenheit
  • 3 tablespoons fresh strawberry puree or strawberry syrup
  • 1 cup milk of choice dairy, oat, almond, or coconut
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave optional
  • Pinch of salt optional
  • Ice cubes for iced version

  • Small bowl or cup for whisking matcha

  • Milk steamer or small saucepan

Method
 

  1. Sift one teaspoon matcha powder through a fine-mesh sieve into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  2. Pour three tablespoons of hot water (160-170°F) over the sifted matcha.
  3. Whisk the matcha and hot water vigorously with a matcha whisk or small wire whisk for 30 to 45 seconds until frothy.
  4. Stir in three tablespoons of fresh strawberry puree or strawberry syrup until fully combined.
  5. Heat one cup of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming (150-155°F), or froth with a milk steamer.
  6. Slowly pour the steamed milk into the matcha and strawberry mixture while stirring gently.
  7. Taste and stir in one teaspoon of honey or agave if additional sweetness is desired.
  8. Pour the latte into your favorite cup and serve immediately hot, or pour over ice cubes for an iced version.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor and texture, or refrigerate leftover latte for up to 6 hours.
