Ingredients

Main
  • 2 shots about 2 ounces espresso
  • 6 ounces whole milk or milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder optional, for garnish
  • Sugar to taste optional

Equipment

  • Espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker
  • Milk frother or steam wand
  • Coffee grinder (if using whole beans)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Coffee cup or mug

Method

  1. Start by brewing two shots of espresso using your espresso machine or stovetop maker.
  2. In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk until it’s warm but not boiling.
  3. Using a milk frother or steam wand, froth the warm milk until it doubles in volume and has a creamy texture.
  4. Pour the brewed espresso into your coffee cup, then slowly add the frothed milk on top.
  5. Add a spoonful of the remaining frothed milk on top to form a delightful foam cap.
  6. Sprinkle cocoa powder on top for a hint of chocolate flavor, if desired.
  7. Stir in sugar or any preferred sweetener to taste.
  8. Serve your cappuccino hot and enjoy immediately.

Notes

This cappuccino pairs beautifully with chocolate croissants, almond biscotti, or breakfast muffins.
