Method
- Start by boiling a large pot of salted water.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the ground beef, and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
- Add another layer of sauce, noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, remaining beef, and more mozzarella; repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Top with grated Parmesan and the remaining mozzarella.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
- After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the lasagna sit for about 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Pair with a fresh salad and garlic bread for a complete meal. Letting the lasagna rest helps maintain its structure when cutting.
