Ingredients

Main
  • 2 pounds sirloin tip steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Equipment

  • Grill or cast iron skillet
  • Meat thermometer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Tongs
  • Small bowl for seasoning

Method

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, salt, black pepper, and onion powder.
  2. Rub the marinade all over the sirloin tip steak, ensuring it’s well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high or your skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place the marinated steak on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  5. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the steak. Aim for 130-135°F for medium-rare or 140-145°F for medium doneness.
  6. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes.
  7. Using a sharp knife, slice the steak against the grain for tender pieces.
  8. Plate your beautifully sliced steak and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Always let your steak rest before slicing to keep it juicy and flavorful.
