Method

  1. Pour 1 cup plain yogurt into a small bowl and whisk until smooth; stir in 1/4 teaspoon black salt and 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder.

  3. Divide the spiced yogurt evenly among 4 shallow bowls, using about 1/4 cup per serving, spreading it to form an even layer.
  4. Cut each samosa in half lengthwise or break into 2 to 3 bite-sized pieces, depending on preference.
  5. Arrange the samosa pieces over the yogurt base in each bowl at slight angles to keep them crisp.
  6. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney in a zigzag pattern over the samosas and yogurt.
  7. Drizzle about 1 tablespoon mint chutney in the opposite direction to create a contrasting zigzag.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, a pinch of red chili powder, and a generous pinch of chaat masala over each serving. Top with 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion, 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, and 1 tablespoon pomegranate arils if using.
