Ingredients

Main
  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon sliced

Equipment

  • Oven-safe skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  3. Place salmon fillets on a plate and pour the marinade over them, turning to coat evenly.
  4. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes until hot.
  5. Add the salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for 4–5 minutes without moving until the skin is crispy.
  6. Top each fillet with lemon slices.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  8. Remove from oven and let the salmon rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Always let the salmon rest a few minutes after baking to keep it moist and flavorful.
