  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cup of barbecue sauce

Equipment

  • Oven or grill
  • Large baking dish or roasting pan
  • Aluminum foil
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) or prepare your grill for indirect cooking.
  2. Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Generously apply the spice rub to both sides of the ribs.
  5. Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
  6. Place the wrapped ribs in the preheated oven or on the grill. Bake for 2 to 2.5 hours.
  7. After baking, carefully unwrap the ribs and brush them with barbecue sauce.
  8. Return the ribs to the grill or oven for an additional 30 minutes uncovered.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, let the ribs rest for 10 minutes after cooking before slicing.
