  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pickling spice
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan

  • Jar with a lid for storage
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by placing the eggs in a saucepan and covering them with cold water.
  2. Bring the water to a rolling boil, then cover the pot and remove it from heat.
  3. Allow the eggs to sit in the hot water for about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool them down quickly.
  5. In a medium saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, sugar, pickling spice, and salt.
  6. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  7. Peel the eggs under running water for easier removal of the shell.
  8. Place the peeled eggs into a clean jar.
  9. Pour the warm brine over the eggs until they are fully submerged.
  10. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 5 days.
  11. After the soaking period, your pickle eggs are ready to be enjoyed!

Notes

Great for parties or as a snack that stands out. Try adding sliced jalapeƱos or garlic to the brine for extra flavor.
