Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water 110°F
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling pin
  • Kitchen knife or pizza cutter
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  5. After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Layer the pepperoni and mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough.
  7. Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  8. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, brush the tops of the rolls with a little melted butter before baking.
