Main
  • 8 ounces of your favorite pasta like penne or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 cup of sweet peas fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Colander for draining
  • Skillet for sautéing
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of the pasta water.
  4. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Add the sweet peas to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes, just until heated through.
  7. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the peas and garlic, tossing everything together to coat.
  8. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and mix well, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
