  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz aged rum

  • Measuring jigger
  • Champagne flute or cocktail glass
  • Muddler

Method

  1. In a shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and the simple syrup.
  2. Muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup to release the mint's oils.
  3. Pour in the fresh lime juice and aged rum.
  4. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  5. Using a strainer, pour the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
  6. Pour the chilled sparkling wine over the strained mixture.

  8. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Best when served fresh; the longer it sits, the less fizzy it becomes.
