Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup warm milk about 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Kitchen towel
  • Oven

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add the melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture. Whisk until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  7. Punch the dough down to release air. Divide it into 12 equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  8. Place the shaped buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Cover the shaped buns with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the buns for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
