Main
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 12 ounces pasta spaghetti or your choice
  • Fresh basil for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat with a bit of oil. Cook the meatballs until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the browned meatballs in the skillet.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer the meatballs in the sauce for about 15 minutes.
  6. While the meatballs are simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  7. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the meatballs and sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
  8. Transfer the meatball pasta to a serving dish and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
