Method
- Cut limes in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or hand-held press until you have 1 1/2 cups of fresh juice.
- Pour 1 cup of premium tequila into a large glass pitcher.
- Add 3/4 cup of triple sec or Cointreau to the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of fresh lime juice to the pitcher and stir well to blend.
- Pour in 1/2 cup of cooled simple syrup and stir for about 30 seconds to fully integrate the flavors.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 2 days to chill and meld the flavors.
- Prepare each glass by dipping the rim into 1/4 cup fresh lime juice and coating with kosher salt or margarita salt.
- Fill each prepared glass with fresh ice cubes and pour the chilled margarita mixture over the ice, filling each glass three-quarters full.
- Garnish each glass with a lime wheel or wedge and serve immediately while cold.
Notes
Batch chill your glasses and use fresh ice cubes stored in the freezer to keep the margarita cold without diluting.
