Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped (optional, for garnish)

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water.
  2. In a bowl, combine shrimp, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  4. Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet in a single layer.
  5. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  7. If using, stir in chopped cilantro just before serving.
  8. Remove from heat and serve the lime shrimp hot.

Notes

Serve over rice, in tacos, or on a salad. Marinating the shrimp for longer can deepen the flavors.
