Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried mint)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Toppings: lettuce tomato, onion, tzatziki sauce, feta cheese (optional)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Grill or frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Meat thermometer
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and mint.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Preheat your grill or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the patties on the grill or pan for about 4-5 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 145°F for medium-rare.
  5. Toast the burger buns cut-side down on the grill or pan during the last minute of cooking.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the toasted buns and adding your desired toppings.
  7. Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

Allow the patties to rest for a few minutes after cooking for juicier burgers.
