  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 pear grated (for sweetness and tenderness)
  • 4 cloves garlic minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Grill or broiler

  • Plastic wrap or resealable bag

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated pear, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.

  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer everything to a resealable bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the ribs from the marinade, letting the excess drip off.
  6. Place the ribs on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  8. Garnish the ribs with chopped green onions before serving.
  9. Serve with steamed rice and your favorite side dishes.
