  • 1/4 cup corn canned or frozen
  • 1 clove garlic minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Equipment

  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by draining and rinsing the kidney beans to remove excess sodium.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use a fork or potato masher to mash the beans until mostly smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture.
  3. Mix in the chopped onion, corn, and minced garlic.
  4. Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the mix.
  5. Stir in the breadcrumbs until everything is combined.
  6. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.
  7. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
