Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

Main
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 3 oz fresh lemonade
  • 1 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur
  • 3 honeydew melon balls frozen
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wheel for garnish optional

Method

  1. Chill a highball or Collins glass in the freezer for 10 minutes while you gather the ingredients.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with fresh ice cubes.
  3. Measure and pour 1.5 oz vodka into the shaker.
  4. Add 3 oz fresh lemonade to the shaker.
  5. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels frosty.
  6. Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and fill it with fresh ice.
  7. Strain the shaken vodka-lemonade mixture into the prepared glass, leaving the shaker ice behind.
  8. Slowly float 1 oz Chambord over the back of a spoon so it settles near the bottom of the drink, creating a layered effect.
  9. Thread 3 frozen honeydew melon balls onto a cocktail pick and place it across the rim of the glass; add a lemon wheel garnish if desired.
  10. Serve immediately while the melon balls are still frozen and the drink is ice-cold.

Notes

Freeze melon balls for at least 2 hours in advance; they keep the cocktail cold without dilution and provide the signature tennis-ball look.
