Ingredients
Method
- Chill a highball or Collins glass in the freezer for 10 minutes while you gather the ingredients.
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with fresh ice cubes.
- Measure and pour 1.5 oz vodka into the shaker.
- Add 3 oz fresh lemonade to the shaker.
- Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels frosty.
- Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and fill it with fresh ice.
- Strain the shaken vodka-lemonade mixture into the prepared glass, leaving the shaker ice behind.
- Slowly float 1 oz Chambord over the back of a spoon so it settles near the bottom of the drink, creating a layered effect.
- Thread 3 frozen honeydew melon balls onto a cocktail pick and place it across the rim of the glass; add a lemon wheel garnish if desired.
- Serve immediately while the melon balls are still frozen and the drink is ice-cold.
Notes
Freeze melon balls for at least 2 hours in advance; they keep the cocktail cold without dilution and provide the signature tennis-ball look.
