Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups warm milk about 110°F
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4-5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Clean kitchen towel
  • Oven

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Stir in salt and gradually add 4 cups of flour, mixing until a dough begins to form.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
  7. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Cover the rolls with the kitchen towel again and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  10. Brush the rolls with melted butter right after baking for a glossy finish.

Notes

These rolls are versatile enough to accompany any meal and can also be frozen for later use.
