- Gather all spices and place a small mixing bowl on a clean, dry surface.
- Measure 2 tablespoons of chili powder and add to the bowl.
- Add 1.5 teaspoons of ground cumin to the bowl.
- Add 1 teaspoon of paprika and 0.5 teaspoon of garlic powder, then stir to combine.
- Stir in 0.5 teaspoon of onion powder and 0.25 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, mixing to break up any clumps.
- Add 0.5 teaspoon of dried oregano, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.25 teaspoon of black pepper to the mixture.
- Whisk all spices together thoroughly for about 1 minute until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the seasoning blend to an airtight glass jar using a funnel and label with the date.
- To use, brown 1 pound of meat, drain excess fat, add 3 tablespoons of water and 2.5 tablespoons of seasoning, then simmer for 5 minutes.
