  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to heat preference
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Gather all your ingredients on the counter so you can easily access each spice.
  2. Measure 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast into the small mixing bowl.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons kosher salt to the bowl with nutritional yeast.
  4. Stir the nutritional yeast and salt together with a fork or whisk until evenly combined.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon garlic powder and 1 tablespoon onion powder to the mixture.
  6. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, then stir well.
  7. Add 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper and mix thoroughly to distribute the heat evenly.
  8. Give the blend a final stir, breaking up any clumps and tasting a small pinch to adjust seasoning if desired.
  9. Transfer the finished seasoning into an airtight container or shaker jar for storage.

Notes

For best results, season freshly popped warm popcorn and toss with melted butter or oil so the seasoning sticks. Store in a cool, dark place for up to two months. Add a few grains of uncooked rice in the jar to absorb moisture and prevent clumping.
