Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet or pizza stone
  • Oven
  • Pizza cutter

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface.
  8. Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the pizza sauce, sprinkle cheese, and arrange the pepperoni on top.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.

Notes

For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings!
