- Wash and cut your fresh fruit into chunks, removing any pits, seeds, or tough skin.
- Add fruit chunks to your blender with a splash of water and blend on high speed until completely smooth with no chunks.
- Pour the blended fruit through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing gently with a spoon to extract all liquid and remove seeds and pulp.
- In a measuring cup, combine the strained puree with water, sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness.
- Stir in vanilla extract, coconut milk, or any other add-ins you are using to ensure even distribution.
- Carefully pour your mixture into the Creami bottle, filling it to the marked line to ensure proper freezing.
- Place the sealed bottle upright in your freezer for 4 to 6 hours, or until completely solid.
- Remove the frozen bottle, flip it upside down into the Creami slot, and select your desired setting (sorbet, slushi, or smoothie bowl).
- Serve immediately while the texture is perfect, garnishing with fresh fruit, mint, or a sprinkle of lime zest if desired.
Notes
Pro Tip: Allow your frozen bottle to sit at room temperature for 2 to 3 minutes before processing to soften the surface slightly and help the machine shave the ice more smoothly. Taste your mixture before freezing and err on the side of slightly sweeter than desired, as freezing mutes flavors. Keep your Creami bottle in the freezer between uses for convenience. Try layering different colored purees before freezing to create visually striking striped effects.
