Homemade Cocktail Sauce

Ingredients

  • Ketchup 1 cup
  • Prepared horseradish 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon
  • Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon
  • Hot sauce 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground

Method
 

  1. Add 1 cup of ketchup to a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Stir in 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish, adjusting the amount for desired heat.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and mix well.
  4. Pour in 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and combine.
  5. Season with 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
  6. Whisk until the sauce is smooth and evenly blended, about 30 seconds.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning to preference.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

Prepare the sauce a day ahead for deeper flavor. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
