Main
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced (any color)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4-6 flour or corn tortillas
  • Optional toppings: sour cream guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese, cilantro

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring spoons
  • Serving platter or taco holders

Method

  1. Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the sliced onion and bell pepper once the beef is browned.
  4. Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Continue cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. While the beef and vegetables finish cooking, warm your tortillas in a separate pan.
  7. On each tortilla, spoon a generous amount of the beef and veggie mixture, and add your favorite toppings.
  8. Arrange the assembled fajitas on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef with the spices for 30 minutes before cooking.
