Ingredients

Main
  • 4 halibut fillets about 6 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Grill or grill pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Fish spatula

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the halibut fillets to the marinade and let them sit for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat your grill to medium-high.
  4. Using a paper towel dipped in oil, carefully wipe the grill grates.
  5. Lay the halibut fillets on the grill, skin side down if applicable.
  6. Cook the halibut for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  7. Check for doneness by gently flaking the fish at the thickest part.
  8. Once off the grill, sprinkle the halibut with fresh parsley.

Notes

Let the halibut rest for a couple of minutes before serving to lock in the juices.
