Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound baby carrots or whole carrots peeled and cut into sticks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary chopped (optional)

Equipment

  • Grill (gas or charcoal)
  • Grilling basket or aluminum foil
  • Cutting board
  • Chef's knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Start by washing and peeling the carrots to remove any dirt.
  2. If using whole carrots, slice them lengthwise into quarters for even cooking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the carrots with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and herbs.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, about 375-400°F.
  5. Add the seasoned carrots to a grilling basket or wrap them in aluminum foil.
  6. Grill the carrots for about 10-15 minutes, turning halfway through.
  7. Use a fork to check the carrots; they should be tender but still have a bit of bite.
  8. Remove the carrots from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
  9. Drizzle with a little extra olive oil or lemon juice for a finishing touch.

Notes

Grilled carrots can be paired with grilled chicken or roasted potatoes for a delicious meal.
