Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds poppy seeds, or everything bagel seasoning

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, self-rising flour, honey, and salt. Stir until a dough forms; it may be slightly sticky.
  3. Lightly flour your work surface and turn out the dough. Knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into four equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then use your fingers to poke a hole through the center, shaping it into a bagel.
  5. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the shaped bagels on the sheet, giving them some space to rise.
  6. Brush the tops of the bagels with the beaten egg.
  7. Sprinkle optional toppings generously over the egg wash.
  8. Bake the bagels for 20 minutes until they are golden brown.

Notes

These bagels are customizable with toppings and can be stored for later use.
