Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces bourbon or whiskey
  • 0.5 ounces amaretto liqueur
  • 0.5 ounces heavy cream
  • Ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • Optional: whole almond for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • cocktail strainer
  • Rocks glass or lowball glass
  • Bar spoon or small mixing spoon
  • Ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Gather your ingredients and tools.
  2. Fill your shaker with 6 to 8 ice cubes.
  3. Measure 1.5 ounces of bourbon or whiskey and pour it over the ice.
  4. Add 0.5 ounces of amaretto liqueur to the shaker.
  5. Pour 0.5 ounces of heavy cream into the shaker.
  6. Secure the shaker lid tightly to prevent leaks.
  7. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  8. Fill a rocks glass with 2 to 3 large ice cubes.
  9. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass, discarding the ice in the shaker.
  10. Garnish with a whole almond if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately while cold and the cream emulsion is intact. Use chilled ingredients for best results.
