Ingredients

Main
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 6 oz crab meat drained and chopped
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce gluten-free
  • 12 gluten-free wonton wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Deep frying pan or pot
  • slotted spoon

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce.
  2. Use a fork to blend the ingredients until smooth.
  3. Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about a tablespoon of the crab mixture into the center.
  4. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it in half to form a triangle. Pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium heat.
  6. Carefully add the filled wontons to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to remove the crab rangoon from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
