- Open both cans of peaches and drain the syrup in a colander, reserving 2 tablespoons of the liquid.
- Heat unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes until melted and slightly golden.
- Stir in brown sugar with a wooden spoon for about 30 seconds until it dissolves and forms a smooth paste.
- Add ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and a pinch of sea salt, stirring for 15 seconds to bloom the spices.
- Pour in vanilla extract and the reserved peach juice, stirring until the glaze is smooth and combined.
- Gently place the drained peach halves in the skillet and turn them to coat evenly with the glaze.
- Let the peaches simmer over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes, occasionally shaking the pan to redistribute the glaze.
- Remove from heat, taste, and adjust seasoning with extra vanilla, brown sugar, or spices if desired.
