Ingredients

Main
  • 500 g minced lamb
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 green chilies chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon roasted chana dal powder
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or melted butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Food processor or meat grinder
  • Skewers (if grilling)
  • Frying pan or grill
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced lamb, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies.
  2. Stir in the garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, roasted chana dal powder, and salt.
  3. Add the chopped fresh coriander and ghee to the mixture.
  4. If you have a food processor, pulse the mixture until smooth.
  5. With wet hands, shape the mixture into small round patties or kebabs.
  6. Place the formed kebabs in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  8. Fry the kebabs until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  9. Remove the kebabs from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  10. Serve hot with mint chutney or your favorite dip.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the minced lamb overnight with spices for a deeper taste.
