Ingredients

Main
  • 12 ounces refrigerated or frozen ravioli cheese or meat-filled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Italian-style preferred
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Marinara sauce for dipping optional

Equipment

  • Large pot or deep fryer
  • slotted spoon
  • Paper towels
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cooking thermometer
  • Tongs

Method

  1. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In three separate bowls, place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Dip each ravioli first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  4. Carefully place a few ravioli at a time into the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding.
  5. Fry the ravioli for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried ravioli and place them on paper towels.
  7. Enjoy the fried ravioli while they're still warm, served alone or with marinara sauce for dipping.
  8. Continue frying the remaining ravioli until all are cooked.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top right after frying!
