Ingredients

Main
  • 1 medium head of green cabbage chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tablespoons of butter or oil for frying
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika for extra flavor

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and cut it into quarters to chop it easier.
  2. Thinly slice the onion and set it aside.
  3. Place your skillet over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt completely.
  4. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  6. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring well to combine.
  7. Sprinkle in salt, pepper, and smoked paprika if using.
  8. Cover the skillet and let the cabbage cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
