Ingredients

Main
  • 2 pounds pork ribs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Slow cooker
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Place the ribs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, check the ribs for doneness using a meat thermometer.
  6. If desired, transfer the ribs to a baking sheet and broil them for 5 minutes for a crispy finish.
  7. Allow the ribs to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice the ribs between the bones and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

For even more flavor, marinate the ribs in the sauce overnight before cooking.
