Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound raw shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 lime juiced

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving platter
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, combine the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. While the shrimp is cooking, warm the corn tortillas in a separate skillet over low heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  6. Once the shrimp and tortillas are ready, place a few shrimp in each tortilla.
  7. Add shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro on top of the shrimp.
  8. Finish by squeezing fresh lime juice over the assembled tacos.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in the seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking.
