- Chill Your Glass: Fill your martini glass or coupe with ice and a splash of cold water, set aside for 1 minute.
- Fill Your Mixing Glass with Ice: Load the mixing glass or pitcher with large cubes until full.
- Measure Your Vodka: Using a jigger, pour exactly 2 ounces of vodka into the mixing glass.
- Add the Dry Vermouth: Measure and pour 1 teaspoon of dry vermouth into the mixing glass.
- Add the Olive Brine: Pour 1 ounce of quality olive brine into the mixing glass.
- Stir for Proper Dilution and Temperature: Stir slowly and deliberately with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds.
- Empty Your Chilled Glass: Discard the ice and water from the chilled glass to ensure it is cold and dry.
- Strain Into Your Glass: Place a strainer over the mixing glass and pour the cocktail into your chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with Olives: Thread 2 to 3 pitted green olives on a pick and rest it on the rim or drop into the glass.
Notes
Always use large ice cubes and stir, not shake, to maintain a silky texture and prevent dilution. Adjust olive brine to taste.
