Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and water to form a dough. Knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix the ground pork, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a thin sheet.
  5. Using a knife or round cutter, cut the rolled dough into circles about 3 inches in diameter.
  6. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough circle.
  7. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
  8. Place the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

Serve dim sum fresh and hot, paired with chili oil or soy sauce for dipping.
