Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup ground pork
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup water chestnuts finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 package dumpling wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Frying pan or deep fryer
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie cutter or round cutter
  • slotted spoon
  • Paper towels

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, water chestnuts, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
  2. Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything until well combined.
  3. Take a dumpling wrapper and place it on a clean, flat surface.
  4. Add about a tablespoon of filling to the center of each wrapper.
  5. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold it over to create a half-moon shape.
  6. Pinch the edges tightly to seal, ensuring there are no air pockets.
  7. In a frying pan over medium heat, add enough oil to cover the bottom.
  8. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the dumplings in the pan.
  9. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  10. Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings and drain them on paper towels.

Notes

These dumplings are best served with dipping sauces like soy sauce or sweet chili sauce.
