Ingredients

Main
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp milk as needed for consistency

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage container

Method

  1. Soften the cream cheese and butter by allowing them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and butter. Beat together until smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time.
  4. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. If the frosting is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Always taste the frosting and adjust sweetness by adding more powdered sugar or tanginess by adding more cream cheese.
  7. Once your cinnamon rolls are warm, generously spoon the frosting over the top.
  8. Serve your cinnamon rolls and enjoy.

Notes
