Ingredients

Main
  • 4 6-ounce Copper River salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill or ½ teaspoon dried dill

Equipment

  • Grill or oven
  • Fish spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Aluminum foil (optional)

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and dill.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in the bowl with the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, then flip and grill for an additional 4-6 minutes.
  6. If using the oven, place the marinated fillets on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake for about 12-15 minutes.
  7. Check for doneness using a fork to test; it should flake easily and be opaque throughout.
  8. Remove the salmon from the grill or oven, and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of lemon zest on top just before serving.
