Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey for a lighter option
  • 4 cups mixed greens like romaine and spinach
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup pickles diced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup burger dressing or your favorite vinaigrette

Equipment

  • Grill or grill pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving plates

Method

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into four equal patties, making a small indentation in the center of each.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the patties.
  4. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4–5 minutes on each side.
  5. While the burgers are grilling, place the mixed greens in a large mixing bowl.
  6. Add the cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and pickles to the bowl.
  7. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes, then slice them into strips or cubes.
  8. Top the salad with the sliced burgers and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Drizzle your dressing, toss gently, and serve immediately.

Notes

Let the burgers rest for a few minutes before slicing to keep them juicy. This salad is best enjoyed fresh.
