Ingredients

Main
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce like Frank's RedHot
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cooking spray or oil brush
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Toss the dried wings in the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  6. Air fry the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, flipping them halfway through for even crispiness.
  7. While the wings are cooking, combine 1/2 cup hot sauce and 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter in a small bowl to make the sauce.
  8. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl, pour the sauce over them, and toss until fully coated.
  9. Plate the wings and serve immediately, ideally with celery sticks and blue cheese dip.

Notes

Pro Tip: For extra crispy wings, let them rest for a few minutes after cooking before tossing them in the sauce.
