Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 medium apples cored and chopped
  • 1 large carrot peeled and chopped
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root peeled
  • 1/2 lemon peeled
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • Ice cubes optional

Equipment

  • High-powered blender or juicer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Shot glasses or small drinking glasses
  • Measuring spoons
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Wash all produce under cool running water and peel the carrots, ginger, and lemon.
  2. Core the apples and chop apples, carrot, ginger, and lemon into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Place chopped apples, carrot, ginger, and lemon into the blender.
  4. Add turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper to the blender.
  5. Pour in 1/2 cup filtered water.
  6. Blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  7. Optional: Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer for a smoother texture.
  8. Divide the mixture into four shot glasses and serve immediately.
