  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Grill or oven
  • Baking dish (if baking)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Place the bluefish fillets in the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade.
  3. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. If grilling, place the fillets skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side.
  6. If using the oven, place the fillets in a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Check for doneness using a meat thermometer; ensure internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Remove the fish from the grill or oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  9. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish.
  10. Plate the bluefish with your choice of sides and serve.

Notes

Let the fish rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain its moisture and flavor.
