  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Equipment

  • Knife and cutting board

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the ground beef to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  5. Mix in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour in the diced tomatoes with their juices and beef broth.
  7. Gently fold in the black and kidney beans.
  8. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low.

  10. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed before serving.

Notes

Letting it simmer longer can enhance the flavors even more.
